The Team

Tom is a fellow member of the AAT and a member of the ATT. He has worked within finance and accounts for over 15 years, including advising within the banking sector, management accounting for Exeter Airport and working for 2 other local accountancy firms.

Tom specialises in Limited Companies, including assisting with incorporation and startups, plus tax planning for all business structures.

Outside the office, he is a bassist for a local band, enjoys a long run and is a keen board-gamer and quiz creator.

Dave has 20 years experience working in accountancy practice, and actually started off his training working under Ashley and his team. He then moved to another practice in Plymouth, closer to home, where he obtained vast experience in Audit and Group Limited Company Accounts in a variety of industries.

He rejoined Dawes Accountants 2 years ago, and now works as a Client Manger for the firm, and is predominantly based in the firms Saltash Office.

In his spare time, you can find Dave on the Golf Course- where he active member at the China Fleet Country Club, and currently plays off a 10 handicap. He also lends his support being on the committee of the golf section at China Fleet, along with the Saltash Social Club.

Sharon first worked for Ashley 16 years ago and has recently rejoined the team and its great to have her back.
In her spare time Sharon enjoys walking her dog on the moors.

Kevin has worked in accountancy practices since gaining his AAT qualification over 10 years ago and has been a member of the Dawes team since 2021.
In his spare time Kevin enjoys spending time with his family and supporting Luton Town football club.

Liam is an AAT qualified accountant having completed his apprenticeship here at Dawes Accountants.

In his spare time Liam enjoys watching football (unfortunately is an Arsenal fan), boxing and spending time with his family.

Maggie started with Dawes 4 years ago and is part of our payroll team. She has an IPPM Diploma in Payroll Management and has worked in payroll for over 30 years.

Having moved from London to Peterborough for 30 years Maggie is now settled in Newton Abbot.

Maggie enjoys good food, walking and spending time with family and friends – she is a cocktail queen!

Helena has worked in accountancy and human resources locally, and is both Human Resource Management qualified, and has gained her AAT qualification.

Helena is heavily involved in supporting her son’s, and daughter’s, sporting interests, and promoting the future of Ipplepen football club. Helena has been a governor of a local primary school, until recently, and enjoys helping local causes.

Melanie is a part of our internal admin team and is one of the two ladies that greets you with a smile in our newton abbot office reception.
Melanie has 14 years admin experience working various administrative roles within the NHS, is an avid reader, formula one fan and always planning her next concert or theatre visit.
